To coincide with the other food festival activities taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Art Studio will adapt its drop-in workshops on these dates for Adults, Juniors and Children.
Tuesday 11 December
- 9am-12pm: Adult Workshop ‘Linocut’ to feature food imagery/ utensils/ food still life to be made as a linocut.
- 4:45-5:30pm: Children’s Workshop ‘Art Stars- Print’ to incorporate children using vegetables to make prints/impressions.
- 4:45-6:00pm: Junior Workshop ‘Young Printmakers- Linocut’ to feature food imagery/ utensils/ food still life to be made as a linocut.
- 6-8pm: Adult Workshop ‘Assemblage’ use of food/dining/eating paraphernalia (plates, cutlery, etc) to create an assemblage surface to paint upon (in the manner of Julian Schnabel or Daniel Spoerri)
Wednesday 12 December
- 9am-12pm: Adult Workshop ‘Portraits’ in the manner of Arcimboldo (Italian painter who used fruit and veg to make faces)
- 2:45-3:30pm: Children’s Workshop ‘Interactive Artists- Clay’ create food/plate of food from clay
- 4:45-5:30pm: Children’s Workshop ‘Art Masters- Henri Matisse’ coloured paper cut-out still life of fruit
- 4:45-6pm: ‘Young Sketchers- Portraits’ in the manner of Arcimboldo (Italian painter who used fruit and veg to make faces)
- 6-8pm: Adult Workshop ‘Ceramics’ coil bowl making with slab clay attachments of food motifs, or, food motifs carved into the clay surface.
